In Vampire: the Masquerade, clans are a lot like character classes. While no clan is limited in what abilities or attributes they can ultimately focus on, they do start with specific focuses in mind. Clans also each have a unique three discipline combination, as well as advantages and weaknesses that will alter gameplay. Outside of the metagame principals, each class has a unique flavor that suggests roleplaying style.
Part 29Wearily, I pushed open the door to The Last Round.'Got 'em, Damsel. Every last fucking one of them.' I leaned on the doorframe, running a hand through my hair.'That's cool', I deadpanned. 'You're still a pissy bitch. In a good way.' I grinned, giving her a shove. 'Whatever, I'll keep that in mind.' Is that what I am? An Anarch? Which road are these feet of mine taking me down? Shrugging off such brooding thoughts, I decided to pay Max a visit. Afterall, he said he'd reward me if I figured out the cause of the outbreak. Plus, I wanted to see the look on his face when a 'neonate' achieved something he couldn't.'The epidemic is over. The biohazard crews are already pulling out of town. Seems when the illness was cured, it was pretty much instantaneous.'A plaguebearer who called himself Bishop Vick. He gave it to a vampire called Jezebel Locke who spread it amongst the hookers of LA, and to a nosferatu called Brother Kanker, who focused on the homeless population.' Strauss' eyes narrowed in thought, his tone grim.'As I said Max, he said his name was Bishop Vick. Part of a cult he called the Ninth Circle, spreading disease as a harbringer of apocalypse. He didn't sound to rational, to be honest. Why's it so important?'Strauss seemed to talk more to himself than to me, stroking his chin, eyes distant. He nodded once, then looked at me, his tone congratulatory.I thought. Money I could get anywhere. I had a few more rings to pawn, and a car stereo I'd 'found'. Larry would probably want that one. A talisman, well, they were so much harder to find. 'I'll take the first.' Not so unworthy am I know, huh Maxy? I turned, walking towards the door. 'I'll bear that in mind. Now I must be off, LaCroix wants me to look at a boat for him.'The item given was the Bloodstar, a seemingly harmless trinket. However, I felt power resonating within it, pulsing in my hand like a heartbeat. I had a feeling it would prove useful. Closing the door behind me, I walked to the waiting cab. 'Santa Monica', I replied, sinking into the seat. And here was me thinking I was done with that place. Slamming the car door shut, I made my way back down to the pier to be welcomed by a familiar face.I smiled, slapping Mercurio familiarly on the arm. 'Not a problem my man, you're looking better than the last time I saw you.'I nodded. Time to see if Mercurio was as good as his word. 'Listen, I might have a need to get my hands on some decent firepower in the future. This fucking .38 just isn't doing it for me.' Mercurio chuckled, crossing his arms. 'Just tell me what you need, and I'll see what I can do.' 'For starters..', I paused. If I was going to be facing vampires like Vick again, a good shotgun would come in handy. 'What about a combat shotgun, rather than this hunting gun I have here?'Great, I'll pick it up soon. Now, what about a sniper rifle?'I was impressed. Seem if you could point the barrel at someone, Mercurio could get hold of it. I was struck by an idea. 'What about a flamethrower?' I said in a half-joking manner. Mercurio rubbed his temple, obviously taking my request seriously. Now I really was impressed. And somewhat perversely excited. 'Excellent, that would be appreciated. Who knows what I might need to use it on.' I saw E and Lilly standing off to one side watching our conversation. I gripped Mercurio's hand, pumped it once, and made my farewells. 'Well, if it isn't the lovebirds?', I called.'You want my advice, leave LA E. Seems that the less pure you are here, the less they want you.' The less worthy you are, the more they seem to fear you..I looked at E., slightly puzzled. 'Alright then, I'll bear that in mind. You take care of her this time, don't lose her.' Stepping onto the waiting motorboat, I zipped across the water to the large freighter on the horizon.Once I was within earshot of the ship I switched off the engine, masking myself as much as possible. The boat idled up to a rope-ladder which had been strung over the side of the Dane, allowing me to climb up and over. Watching the sea was a police officer. As my feet landed on the deck, he turned, walking towards me. I cringed, wondering how to deal with this. I was specifically told to avoid notice, and wondered whether this included stunning security. As I moved my hand, ready to use my gift to daze the cop, he whispered to me. 'Pssst, over here, and keep your fucking voice down.' Bemused, I crept up to the shadow cast by the roof of the ship, and listened to what the man had to say.I kept my face passive, yet inside my mood was amusedly exultant. He'd mistaken me for a journalist! It seemed Santa Monica's finest had a mole. I was happy to leave him to believe what he believed. 'Jacobson didn't really tell me much at all', I replied, feigning nervousness and just a hint of snivelling sycophancy. 'I didn't realise it was a black tie affair.' Wouldn't it be easier to just cut his throat? Drain him dry, toss him over the edge, no-one the wiser? The thought was troubling. Was I losing myself to the Beast in such a way as to start viewing humans as irritating obstacles? I'd have to ask Jack when I got back - he seemed to know more about the Beast than anyone else I'd spoken to. He seemed more willing to talk about it.I looked over the handrail towards the ship's engine rooms. A guard patrolled along the doorways, eyes observant. I figured that if there was one here, there was probably one in front of a security monitor somewhere. 'So, any advice on how to get there?'Got it', I responded, turning to walk down the stairs. 'Hey, tell Jacobson that I expect twice my usual cut for this one.' I nodded, already dismissing the man from my mind. I crept down the stairs, hearing the informant calling his patrolling colleague over. 'Hey check this out!', he yelled over his shoulder. 'Looks like a whale to me!' I rolled my eyes, waiting for the guard to pass before looking around. The blood was sprayed across the room in an almost artistic statement. A man would have to be rent limb from limb for that sort of effect to be achieved. Whatever had done this was powerful, and vicious. I continued through the trawler, opening the previously guarded door and stepping through.Blood also marked this hallway. I examined it closely, wondering why the cleanup crew hadn't removed the bloodstains. I paused, looking closer at the imprints. 'Bootheels', I murmured, touching the dried blood. And not police issue either. Something felt wrong here, but I couldn't place my finger on it. Stepping through another door, I came to an open chamber, with a door labelled 'Records'. As good a place as any to find the manifest. I opened the door, to find the manifest sitting in plain sight on top of a rudimentary desk. So, the Ankaran Sarcophagus was on board. Next stop was security.Walking up to the computer system, I cracked the password on the ships log. According to the captain's reports, the voyage had started as any other, although he had found it necessary to discipline members of the crew for telling unsettling ghost stories. As the log progressed, members of crew had begun to disappear, leaving only swathes of blood as testament to their existence. The crew began to panic, but no culprit or evidence could be found. The final entrance from the captain read '..the ship is damned..' Bizarre. Using the 'lighthouse' password given to me by the cop, I switched on the security system, setting the secondary monitor to focus on the cargohold. There was the sarcophagus. Although the tomb itself was sealed, the crate containing it was torn open, seemingly from the inside, palm-prints and bloodstains smearing the inner curls of the metal storage container. Whatever had torn open the crate had possessed strength unimaginable, even to what I had seen from vampires. Switching off the security system again, I quickly yet cautiously to the waiting motorboat, unsettling thoughts coming to my mind, my stomach heaving. Suddenly Skelter's talk about Cain, antediluvians and the end of days wasn't seeming so far-fetched after all.. < Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines Brujah
Nickname: Rabble
Attribute Focus: Physical (2)/Social (0)/Mental (1)
Ability Focus: Talents (3)/Skills (2)/Knowledges (1)
Disciplines: Celerity, Potence, Presence
Advantage: +1 to Brawl Talent
Disadvantage: -2 to Frenzy Checks
Analysis: The Unarmed feat is used for force-feeding, and that one extra dot will be pretty useful after a nice blood buff. Other than that, the extra point in brawl is pretty useless because you should NOT be using your fists near the end of the game if you're a Brujah. That being said, the -2 to Frenzy Checks isn't bad, either. Most of the quests give humanity bonuses, and if you have a high humanity it's virtually impossible to frenzy at all. Celerity is arguably the best combat discipline in the game, and works quite well with firearms (do the Bishop Vick sidequest and see what I mean), but would do for melee in a pinch. This is the second best class you could choose for a pure combat character, though (oddly enough) pure combat characters end up fairly weak in Bloodlines, and with less XP.
Brujah NPCs: Nines Rodriguez, Smiling Jack, Damsel, Skelter
Gangrel
Nickname: Outlanders
Attribute Focus: Physical (2)/Social (0)/Mental (1)
Ability Focus: Talents (2)/Skills (3)/Knowledges (1)
Disciplines: Animalism, Fortitude, Protean
Advantage: +5 to Strength/Stamina/Wits during Frenzy, only clan to get Protean
Disadvantage: -1 on all Frenzy Checks
Analysis: If you want to play an unarmed character use a Gangrel. Their claws at level five protean are some of the deadliest weapons in the game. The addition of Fortitude, which increases all three of your soak feats, makes the Gangrel the most powererful tank in the game. To top this all off, their 'disadvantage' is laughable when you consider their advantage. 'Oh, no, I frenzy easier, but I get awesome stats when I do frenzy.' What? When I play a low humanity character, I invariably play Gangrel. I tend to make sure my blood level is high, though.
Gangrel NPCs: Beckett
Malkavian
Nickname: Lunatics
Attribute Focus: Physical (0)/Social (1)/Mental (2)
Ability Focus: Talents (1)/Skills (2)/Knowledges (3)
Disciplines: Auspex, Dementation, Obfuscate
Advantage: +2 bonus to Inspection, the only clan that can use Dementation
Disadvantage: Congratulations! You're completely insane.
Analysis: Their combination of disciplines makes them the most versatile clan available. If you make a stealthy character (focus on obfuscate), I strongly suggest that you use melee weapons. It's impossible to stealth kill with a gun, and switching back and forth between weapons types is impractical. Because Malkavians are one of two clans that have Obfuscate, I tend to stealth with them. That being said, any clan with Auspex has the potential to be great at firearms, and so that wouldn't be a bad choice, either. Their advantage isn't that useful if you have a walkthrough that can locate every item for you, but if you're playing a firearms character you can easily max out inspection with hardly any effort. That being said, I wouldn't choose a Malkavian the first time you play. I'm not saying this because it's any more difficult. I find that it's EASIER to play a Malkavian because of their Dementation powers. But Malkavians can see the future, and if you're particularly genre savvy you can figure out what happens before it happens just by your dialogue choices.
Malkavian NPCs: Therese Voerman, Jeanette Voerman
Nosferatu
Nickname: Sewer Rats
Attribute Focus: Physical (1), Social (0), Mental (2)
Ability Focus: Talents (1), Skills (3), Knowledges (2)
Disciplines: Animalism, Obfuscate, Potence
Advantage: Able to get more blood from rats (rats also don't run away from you)
Disadvantage: You have an Appearance of 0. You're so ugly that being SEEN is a Masquerade violation.
Analysis: This clan isn't as hard to play as you might think. Although it's a Masquerade violation if you're seen by humans, the game rarely recognizes it as such unless you're seen by police officers (who start attacking you). That being said, you'll probably be spending a lot of time either in the sewers or Obfuscated in the street. Considering rats give you three blood, this isn't that terrible a situation (they give normal characters one blood). Contrary to what some people might say, you can do every single sidequest in the game with the Nos, and a lot of them are much EASIER. The only problem is when you come across supernatural creatures, who can sometimes see you if you have Obfuscate on. I'll let you know in the walkthrough when something like this happens. Potence isn't really a good discipline considering that blood buff automatically gets you to five strength, and (unlike with Fortitude) it doesn't let you go above five strength. Animalism is a good bet if you really want to cause some mayhem, though.
Nosferatu NPCs: Bertram Tung, Gary Golden, Imalia, Mitnick
Toreador
Nickname: Degenerates
Attribute Focus: Physical (0), Social (2), mental (1)
Ability Focus: Talents (3), Skills (1), Knowledges (2)
Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence
Advantage: You pay half experience points for humanity, and humanity rewards are doubled.
Disadvantage: Humanity penalties are also doubled.
Analysis: Though the Toreador are meant to be the most versatile class, they end up being heavily skewed towards the use of guns. A high firearms feat combined with Celerity, Auspex, and Presence makes for a lot of corpses in your wake. They can also start with a fairly high persuade feat (arguably the most important feat in the game), and the highest possible starting Seduction feat. Their advantage/disadvantage is particularly yawnworthy unless you tend to drain people completely or kill random people in the street. When I played a Toreador, I found it didn't affect me at all.
Toreador NPCs: Isaac Abrams, Ash, Velvet Velour
Tremere
Nickname: Warlocks
Attribute Focus: Physical (1)/Social (0)/Mental (2)
Ability Focus: Talents (2)/Skills (1)/Knowledges (3)
Disciplines: Auspex, Dominate, Thaumaturgy
Advantage: Has access to Thaumaturgy Fallout 4 survival mode crash.
Disadvantage: Cannot raise physical attributes above 4
Analysis: Thaumaturgy is arguably the most powerful discipline in the game. If you play well enough, you will hardly ever have to feed while in a combat zone because of Purge and Blood Salvo. That being said, you may want to spend a few points in Melee or Firearms so that you can get by if you start running out of blood points.
Tremere NPCs: Maximillian Strauss
Ventrue
Nickname: Blue Bloods
Attribute Focus: Physical (0), Social (2), Mental (1)
Ability Focus: Talents (2), Skills (1), Knowledges (3)
Disciplines: Dominate, Fortitude, Presence
Advantage: Can use Dominate in dialogue
Disadvantage: Cannot feed on rats, chance of vomiting when drinking blood of 'low born' creatures (bums, prostitutes)
Analysis: Their disadvantage is one of the most crippling in the game. If you choose to play a Ventrue, you'll have to spend lots of money on blood packs for one certain area of the game. This is an area that can take hours if you're playing for the first time, and there's no blood except for rats. Thankfully, you're able to exit in certain areas and continue on further, but it still makes what is already an irritating area of the game rather frustrating. That being said, their advantage is pretty good. The dominate options are some of the best in game. If you play a Ventrue, it's probably better that you go the Melee route if you level their Fortitude discipline at all. That being said, they're fairly equally suited for both Melee and Firearms otherwise.
Ventrue NPCs: Prince Sebastian LaCroix

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is the second role-playing computer game based on Vampire: The Masquerade. It was developed by Troika Games using the Source engine, and is played from either the first- or third-person perspective. It is noted as being the first Source game to go Gold.
In the game, the player creates their own neonatevampire, choosing from the seven Camarillaclans in a story set in and around Los Angeles. The plot is considered canon, and forms a prequel to the Time of Judgement.
Publisher's summaryEdit
Plot Edit
The player's character has been newly embraced by a sire who did not seek the local Prince's permission; both Sire and childe are sentenced to be executed, but following a protest by Anarch 'leader' Nines Rodriguez, Prince LaCroix spares the player's life as a calculated move to preserve a state of non-aggression between the two groups. In return, the player is expected to serve the Prince faithfully, and is set a task to prove their usefulness and loyalty. A supposed Sabbat attack interrupts the introduction to Kindred lore being given to the player by Smiling Jack, and they must continue on alone.
As the game progresses, it becomes apparent that an ancient artifact known as the Ankaran Sarcophagus is at the center of recent tensions between the Camarilla, Sabbat, Anarchs and Kuei-jin of the West Coast. The player must decide which faction – if any – they can trust, and determine the secrets of the Sarcophagus before it causes all out war amongst the Kindred.
The storyline is non-linear; though most events will be encountered regardless of the character's choices, there are numerous optional quests and five distinct endings. However, while the game does give players great freedom, the overall plot line does not change no matter what you do, and all the core missions still need to be completed. For example, if you decide to side with the Anarchs, you will still need to obey Prince LaCroix, as you are told to act like you are still loyal. Similarly, if you try to refuse a mission given to you by the prince, he uses the DominateDiscipline to ensure your obedience.
Setting Edit
Los Angeles and its surroundings are faithfully reproduced as they exist in the Gothic-PunkWorld of Darkness, including major elements of the metaplot like the Kuei-jin invasion and the collapse of the Anarch Free State. Characters from the pen and paper game appear, most notably Beckett, and all the vampire sects are depicted as self-serving, with the player free to choose an allegiance. LA itself is divided into four main regions (Santa Monica, Downtown, Hollywood and Chinatown) that you progress through – once you reach a new region, the previous regions and quests are still available.
The nature of the Kindred is also true to the pen and paper game, as are the problems of living in a Camarilla controlled city; the player must not only worry about losing Humanity, but also about breaking the Masquerade, at least in public areas. Wisely, the game only introduces those details which influence the game.
Most of the clans are mentioned, though the player is restricted to choosing from the seven clans of the Camarilla.
OrganizationsEdit
CharactersEdit
The Protagonist (also known as Fledgling, Cammy, Neonate or Kid) is the main character of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, and is directly controlled by the player – their personality, deeds, clan, etc. are entirely up to the player. After creating a character the game begins in late October of 2004.
The protagonist and an unknown Kindred sleep together in a Santa Monica hotel room. Afterward, the Kindred, whose clan depends on which clan the player chose to be via character creation, Embraces the protagonist. Later, members of the Camarilla burst into the room and immobilize both Sire and Childe with wooden stakes, and take the two of them to the Nocturne Theatre Downtown.
There, Prince Sebastian LaCroix presents their case, saying that the sire of the protagonist violated the rules of vampire society to embrace someone without the Prince's consent.
Eventually, the sire is executed by the Sheriff. Before the protagonist could too be killed, a member of the audience audibly objects to the sentencing. This causes the Prince to pause, and change his mind in an attempt to keep relations civil. LaCroix decides to allow the protagonist to live, explaining to them the laws of their society, and granting them shelter in Santa Monica. From then on, the protagonist is set to work for the Camarilla, and is first tasked with meeting their first contact, Mercurio.
After exiting the theater, the protagonist meets Smiling Jack, who introduces them to the basics of survival and vampiric society. After surviving a Sabbat raid, the protagonist takes a cab to their first haven.

Gameplay Edit
Bloodlines is a real-time game with the choice between first and third person perspectives. The player character's ability to overcome obstacles is in many cases a mixture of player and character abilities, with character stats determining the effectiveness of actions, and player abilities determining whether or not the actions succeed. For example, the ability to move silently and avoid being detected is heavily influenced by the character's Dexterity and Stealth ratings; however, if the player does not stay in the shadows while sneaking past enemies, the character can still be detected.
The player character increases in power dramatically during the course of the game through the expenditure of earned experience points on attributes, skills and Disciplines. A multitude of items, weapons, and books can be found or purchased that also make the player character more powerful.
Unlike most computer role-playing games, the experience needed to increase stats and skills is not awarded for killing enemies. Experience points are awarded solely for completing quests, no matter how many creatures the player eliminates in the process; sometimes there a bonus exp being awarded for non-combat approaches. This encourages the player to complete quests in creative ways and significantly increases the game's replay value.
Quests Edit
Quests marked with a + are Plus patch only. Quests marked in italics are side quests and are not part of the critical path to complete the game.
Patches and mods Edit
While criticized on release for the number of bugs present in the game, it garnered enough praise from critics and fans alike to spawn a concerted community patching effort. Indeed in its retail release it was actually impossible to finish the game for some people. One Troika Games patch was rush-released which allowed players to finish the game but left many other bugs and even things such as typos untouched. However, a succession of fan-made mods and patches have since been released even though Troika have since disbanded; few noticeable bugs are left and many features disabled by the developers have been finished and re-enabled. The 'unofficial patch' mods have now reached version 10.2 and allow a choice between restoring cut content or solely bug fixes.
System Edit
Bloodlines uses a simplified version of the Storyteller System which is nonetheless very similar to the original. Characters possess all nine standard attributes, and a reduced set of twelve abilities, broken into the usual groups of Skills, Talents and Knowledges. These are rated from zero to five dots as normal, though the player starts off with far fewer dots than in the pen and paper game. Attribute and Ability scores are added together to form 'feats', which represent the dice pools for various attempted actions; for example, the Melee Combat feat is derived by adding the ratings of the Strength Attribute and Melee Ability. Feats are therefore rated between 1 and 10.
Other traits (like Virtues and Willpower) are largely eliminated, though the character does have a Humanity rating. Blood and Health are measured in similar ways to the traditional Storyteller system, though player characters may have a maximum of 15 blood points rather than 10 (the player's Generation is not explicitly stated, but is assumed to be thirteenth).
Disciplines are simplified as well; characters may only access common vampire powers (like healing and physical augmentation) and their three clan Disciplines; out-of-clan Disciplines are not allowed. Most are modified to make all powers useful during play; Thaumaturgy's powers are based on the Path of Blood, for example, though they are all offensive powers rather than analytical.
Much of the interaction is with mortal kine; as a result, many vampiric disciplines have been toned down to prevent the game from being too easy to complete.
Soundtrack Edit
A number of songs were licensed for the game. The song 'Bloodlines' performed by Ministry, was created specifically for the game. The soundtrack was released through Best Buy stores for customers who pre-ordered the game. The tracks are as follows:

Part 20: XX - A Plague For the AngelsWe've got one more lead in our quest to end the plague infecting LA. That is to talk to the homeless people. Right outside the last round, there's a collection of them. In particular, there's a woman to talk to. Eugenics must have taken a wrong turn in the world of darkness. She looks like a reptile/human hybrid, with that snake-like skin. I need to ask you about the sickness that's been plaguing the homeless. You can see that if we didn't have access to dialogue skills, we would have to bribe her. As to which one we'll pick here, well she's a homeless woman. She probably has a hard enough life as it is. [Persuade] What? You don't remember me? I'm your friend from the homeless shelter. O-okay. Alls I know is that old Tin Can Bill, he's been jabberin' about some kind of monster that took him somewhere ands got him sick. And that's all I know, okay, and that's all I'm sayin. We're probably not dealing with a Toreador, then. Where's this Tin Can Bill? Why, you can usually find him down in his alleyway, just across from that bar over there. Thanks. See ya. We find him, like the woman said, down an alley across from The Last Round. If his vision is that bad, we could be dealing with any vampire clan. It's not Betty, Bill. I heard that you can tell me why everyone is getting sick. Yeah.. I might be able to. But I'm awfully thirsty tonight miss. Could you spare five bucks for a man who's been down on his luck? [Persuade] Uh, sure. I'll give it to you right after we talk. Heh, heh.. thank you, much! I'm going to have to go pick up some hootch. For medicinal purposes, you know.. heh heh heh.. The medicinal purposes of escaping from your awful life. Now I know you ain't going to believe old Bill, because I been tellin' my friends and the cops and everyone since it happened, and people just say that it's the hootch talkin', and nothin' more. It's alright. I'll believe you, Bill. Could it be a Nosferatu? A Tzimisce, maybe? So? What happened? Don't remember too much after that; blacked out and woke up here in my alley. *cough cough* Haven't been feeling too well since then. Shit, that probably means he's got the plague. That explains the coffing, just like Hannah. We better get information out of him quick. Bill! I need to know where the monster took you. *Cough, cough, cough, cough* Came up through the sewers, he did. Just around the corner there. *cough, cough, cough, cough* Don't want to go back to the bad place, friend. *cough, cough, cough, cough* Don't let the monster come back and take me there..*cough, cough, cough, cough* Bill! Stay with me! Everything's going to be alright! Alas, poor Bill. Someone's gonna pay We've entered an alternate section of the downtown LA sewers, one that's not connected to any of the other hotspots in the city. Up ahead is a locked door which leads further into the sewers. We're going to take the longer way, heading left around the corner. Uh, actually we'll go right instead. And through a pipe. Which leads us to this wide open area. This doesn't reek of boss fight, does it? Wait, who's that strung up on the wall? Suddenly, something materializes before us. So it was a Nosferatu. But this one looks excessicely weird. Are those piercings on the lacerations on his head? Does he have red makeup around his eyes? What's going on down here? This is a madhouse! The doors have been opened, the seals broken, and the final steps into the abyss; the terrible mysteries of the Ninth Circle! We heard about the Ninth Circle from Jezebel Locke. Maybe we can get more information out of this guy. Ninth Circle? You mean the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle? The Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle! The darkest dawn is almost upon us! Come! Join us in these last nights, spreading our disease upon the earth, sharing this unholy communion with our human herd! That little speech doesn't tell us anything that we didn't already know. Why are you feeding on the homeless? Brother Kanker, they call me.. High Lord in the diseased halls of the dead. Look around you! The blood, the bloated bodies, the maggot-ridden mortal shells.. These are the signs, the coming of a new age! I'd rather have a canker sore than talk to this guy any more. I don't know what you're talking about, but I've heard enough. Do yourself a favor and listen to that last line: So overdone. Come get some, Brother. Watch Boss Fight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFfz_Vhbxz4 Kanker starts off by activating Potence, increasing the damage of his attacks. Notice that he causes aggravated damage. Kanker is a pain to deal with. He has a good amount of health, and also causes a good amount of damage. You can try to block his attacks, but I couldn't attack him without getting hit myself. After consuming a blood pack, we eventually do him in. Ecce Fatso. Chunk died so that others could live. R.I.P. Turning around, we find this on the ground where Kanker de-obfuscated earlier. Hmm.. You might notice that the exit now is blocked. To get out, we have to turn a couple wheels. Which opens this gate in the floor. Taking that, we're eventually led out to the other big room. So.. remember that big gap we found when we went to the left, earlier? We have to cross it. Either jump the distance or fall down and swim, eventually being let out near the entrance. Either way, we get out. I totally didn't fuck up that jump, by the way. We should head back to Damsel. She might have something to say about that poster we picked up. Do you know what this symbol is? Yeah, I've seen this. Pretty sure I've seen it around here somewhere - one of the buildings, I think. I'll look for it. What did you just say? Fuck, goddamn Cammies! Ugh, you guys are all the same. Let me spare you the search. That skull-symbol is one of the walls here downtown. There. That must mean that whatever's going on inside this the nearby building is related to the plague. Or it could just be a shitty movie theater. I see. They only let people in who have a flyer. Yes (Give him the flyer.) I see. Welcome to the brotherhood. The Bishop will see you upstairs. We head in. Acording to what the ticket-man said (his name is Jumbles, and don't ask me why) this must be the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle. The place is really run down, though I'm not sure if I expected a bunch of weirdos who worship some disease to have the best house. Exploring the area further, we run into this woman. She looks like she's having a really bad time. What the fuck? Did we catch the plague? Is that what it does to our vision? Only one way to find out. :reload: Oh, that's better. Summoned? You're n-new to the Brotherhood, huh? Just got.. enlightened? I - I've been here a few.. days. When the bishop wants to see you, y-you'll be summoned.. a-and then you go up these um, these stairs.. up to the.. the t-temple. If you're playing as a Nosferatu, she mistakes you for Brother Kanker. The temple? What goes on up there? Mm, blood. She said, umm, b-b-blood, everywhere. She um.. She s-saw a few of the s-summoned, t-tried to uh.. oh, to talk to them, but they just.. just s-stared at her with these, umm.. these 'wooo' blank looks, yaknow. N- oh, one of them, uh, s-started reaching for her, a-and she.. she ran away! Huh. That sounds different from the behavior of Tin Can Bill or Hannah. So maybe it's something more than just the plague. We should try to get this girl out of here. We're going to stop this, but she should leave now in order to not get caught in the crossfire. Maybe the Brotherhood isn't all it's cracked up to be. Don't worry. You won't have to worry about the bishop anymore. The.. the - the bishop? Yeah, I-I s-saw him once. He is be-eautiful.. and scary! I-I uh, I dream about him all the time.. he does uh, things to me - i-in my dreams? - he does uh, things.. I.. I don't like to remember. Ugh, whatever, let's just go. Up the stairs.. This must have been what that woman was talking about. But why do they look like zombies? You really don't want to get close to them. One shot to the head is all it takes, and the MAC is a surprisingly good weapon for this. Look at how many there are. How did they get so many people? Was it all through promises of a better life? Did they target the poor, the disenchanted, and the marginalized? Who knows. Their attacks don't do very much damage, and they're really slow. Occasionally one might lunge for you.. ..then this happens. It does a lot of damage when compared to their other attacks, so that's why I say you'll want to stay back and stick to ranged weapons. .. Let me stress that we had to go through a lot of zombies. We're dropping down two floors, which leads us to more zombies. Say, what's that in the background? Some sort of painting, but beats me what it's about or who made it. Angry Salami posted:The painting looks like it's Charles Mengin's Sappho. Not far from there, we find this set of double doors. Heading in.. That woman said he was beautiful. This place does things to you, it seems. You're the cause of all this disease, aren't you? [Listen] *Cough* Disease? Sister, you've got to open your mind! One man's disease is another man's sanctity! Here among the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle, we have shed these earthly labels! Come! Partake of our divine communion. He does sound like a preacher. Who the hell are you? They call me Bishop Vick, Shepherd of the Damned, your midnight guide through our last days here on earth. Do you feel it, sister? The curtain being drawn back at last, drawn back by my hand, by the Brotherhood of the Ninth Circle! Last days here on Earth.. are you talking about Gehenna? Gehenna? Judgment Day? The Apocalypse? Oh again, sister, you are too indoctrinated into the antiquated beliefs of this material world. There is no rhyme or reason, no all-powerful and terrible gods who watch over their children. No, sister. There is no god who would tolerate such a thing. And so I have become God, and the diseases I carry to the masses will bring about an end of my own making, until we have all journeyed below into the Ninth Circle. That's quite the messiah complex. I understand your feelings about being a vampire, but this is no way to deal with it. The time for words has come and gone, my sister. You and I will take those last steps together, and see what truth lies behind the curtain. Let the night fall forever on this cursed earth, and let the fruits of my labor bring a long and bloody harvest! Wait! I know we can work this out. Watch Boss Fight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvzrs03jdTA Vick has a shotgun and a bunch of these zombies to get in our way. He does a lot of damage. It's really best to use the fake katana for this fight. Since you do acrobatic moves when attacking with it -- even rolling on the ground at the end of a 3 hit combo, for example -- you'll avoid a lot of Vick's shotgun blasts. The downside to that is that the katana doesn't do much damage at once. If you look at Vick, you' notice that he's activated celerity. He'll occasionally run away from you in order to get a good shot in. Vick also occasionally has to reload, which gives you time to get some hits in. These zombies really just get in the way more than anything. But there you go, just stick with it and he'll eventually run out of health. Then we're immediately kicked out of the area, appearing back at the entrance. Jumbles is gone, and it's likely that we've just solved the problem of the plague. No way they're recovering from this. Let's go tell Damsel. She might be impressed. All the plaguebearers are dead. We don't know that for certain, but eh. Kindred or kine, I just wanted to help the community. If you're sold on the anarchs or the camarilla, you can show that here. This is probably too big of a commitment for Melissa right now. She's still seeing other factions. Maybe.. See you, Damsel. Let's talk to Jack one more time. I'm doing more useless bullshit for LaCroix. We still haven't investigated the Elizabeth Dane, but we act like we have anyway. Buck up, Kiddo! I told you man, you do what you gotta do. I know, but I can't escape it. You were born into this mess with an ounce of fame; that's usually gonna work against you. What did I do for this attention? Well, I'll bet he's gonna hold you up one day as an example of what the Camarilla can do for the wayward and lowly. Ah, it's a bunch of crap but, hey - good for you. It's possible that we've turned from an inconvience to a useful tool in LaCroix's eyes, especially since we've been schmoozing with him. What am I supposed to do? Yeah, I hear you. Later. Speaking of playing the game, we should head back to Strauss and tell him that the plague is over. Do you have a few minuts to talk with me? Of course. I've solved the problem with the epidemic. Tell me of this so-called bishop. He wanted to bring about the end of the world. But not Gehenna. He's got a more unique plan than that. Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines PatchIf you so desire, I can give you a unique talisman that might be of use in the future. If that does not interest you, I can compensate you with hard currency. You decide. Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines Bishop Vick YoutubeWe have enough cash, and this talisman sound better anyway. I'll take the item you're talking about. Me too. See ya. Much more useful than cash. Next time we'll investigate the Elizabeth Dane, and we'll have to head back through Santa Monica to get there. Stay tuned. Comments are closed.
